My fibromyalgia story

None of us got a diagnosis at birth so like you, I’ve come a long way.  Ever since I was a little girl, my knees, elbows, wrists and muscles would be hurting at the slightest activity and long afterwards.  I kept making the best of it, even after my first car accident that probably really set off fibromyalgia.  
As the years went by, my symptoms got worse and  like you, I pushed through.  Good girls, even if they’re already women, don’t complain and keep going, especially if even doctors keep dismissing the symptoms as just stress or depression. 

I managed to keep up for years until I finally crashed and got a diagnosis: burnout and after going back to work too soon, fibromyalgia,  but there was no cure, there was the option to take meds or not, accept it and get on with my life.   Even in my exhausted state, I couldn’t believe that this was it.    Then towards the end of yet another long winter, worse off then ever, I hit the turning point: exhausted to the core and fed up with being sick and tired, I could not see myself go through another winter like that.  Or 10 winters.   

No more!  I decided that I wasn’t going to let anything or anyone keep me from getting my health back anymore!  

I found a way to heal myself, reduce my fibromyalgia symptoms and I developed the Fibro Success Habits.

Now I’m on a mission to help women worldwide wake up to their symptoms sooner, stop looking for a magic pill and instead make a brave decision to create the life they deserve.   Read the full story here.

Living with Fibromyalgia can be overwhelming and make you feel hopeless and alone.

I know, I’ve been there and like most women I work with, I tried just about everything with little or no results.  A temporary solution that’s financially hardly sustainable and often with side effects that make you even more tired.

You may have tried diets, graded activity exercise plans, meditation and yoga, or you tried pain meds, supplements and detox plans, only to find yourself overwhelmed with all the choices and you just don’t have the energy or time to add all that to an already overloaded to do list.  You joined support groups to only find yourself spending a lot of time there, yet losing hope in the process.  You keep investing time, energy and money but you’re not moving forward.

Money and time

  • Money: your financial situation may be difficult now, talk to me and let’s find a solution that works for you.
  • Time when working: you’re working and losing out on promotions or have a ‘bad record’ for all the extra sick days you take.  You worry about taking more time off to do the sessions.  Talk to me and let’s find a time that works for you.  Talk to your employer or learn to communicate this in a result-oriented way.  
  • Time when home: you’re home because you’re too sick to work or got fired, you ‘re tired and in pain and still need to do the household.  You worry about adding more to your schedule. Here’s the thing to consider: if you feel you can’t afford 1 hour per week or 2 weeks plus optional homework, realize that nothing is going to change.  If you want a change, if you want to feel better, you need to be willing to reserve this time for you.
  • Now is not a good time.  Ask yourself this:
    • How do I want to feel 1 year from now?  Exactly the same, better or worse?
    • What do I want to be doing 1 year from now?  Staying home in bed, watching Netflix or out there doing what I love?
    • How do I want to live my life 1 year from now?  Struggling, frustrated and pushing through? Or excited, well-rested, less symptoms, happy, joyful and loving life?

Discovery call. What is a discovery call and how does it work?

  • Before the first private coaching session and when applying for a coaching program, clients are invited to first book a Discovery call.  
  • On this call I’ll answer your questions and we’ll discuss what program would best suit you taking into account your current health, time and money situation.
  • Click to book a free 45 minute Discovery call.
  • Once you’ve clicked the button, you’ll be directed to my calendar where you can choose a date and time.
  • You’ll receive a confirmation of the appointment by email.  The mail may arrive in your promotions or spam folder.  If so, drag the email to your primary folder and click Yes to add future messages too.  Even better: add info@reinventyourlifecoaching.com to your contacts so you won’t miss any mails.
  • You will receive a separate email with the link to the Zoom call.
  • On the scheduled date and time, we connect through Zoom.
  • A Zoom video call is like a video call with Skype or Messenger.  If you haven’t used Zoom before, be sure to try the link a day before the call, so you can install what’s needed or get help.  You need a laptop with a working webcam (please test this before the call) and a stable internet connection.  Make sure you won’t be disturbed for the duration of the call. 
  • On the call I’ll answer all your questions and I will inform you about what program would best suit your needs.
  • By the end of our session, you’ll have a clear idea if my coaching program is the next right step for you and I’ll share with you the follow up steps to book your sessions or program.

Fibromyalgia coaching & counseling, how it works:

  • Every coaching program, we start off with a 90-minute Deep Dive. 
  • We will meet as agreed, usually weekly, bi-weekly or 3 weeks in a row and 1 recap week.
  • Depending on the program you chose, you will have a number of Coaching sessions and a number of Breakthrough sessions (see overview above). 
  • During the coaching sessions, we will work on learning the Fibro Success Habits and creating an individual plan that fits your unique personality, lifestyle, set of symptoms, habits and more.  You will learn habits that will last a life time.
  • During the Breakthrough sessions, we will work on resistance that arises from old habits and beliefs, unresolved issues and traumatic experiences.  Using gentle techniques with rapid results, we work through the emotions and create free space to fill with positive emotions, confidence and hope.
  • As this is a 100% personalized experience, we may add coaching to breakthrough and breakthrough to coaching sessions to optimize your progress, always with your consent first.
  • This is the combination I used to get me to where I’m at today, coaching you to get there too and faster.
  • I’m there to support you,  I hold you accountable and I give you love and tough love.   
  • In between the coaching sessions, you will get homework, so you stay on track and keep moving forward.  We will discuss this during the coaching session.  
  • You have email and text support in between sessions.
  • You will receive a recording of our session within two days as well as notes and extra information and suggestions we discussed.
  • As we work together, I will be your coach and mentor, I will hold you accountable, support you.  One of the things my clients love is the tough love when you need to hear it.  I will also add moments to reflect on the progress you’ve made, which is often hard to see when you’re in the middle of it.  I now, I’ve been there.

Language: English + Nederlands

  • In English: website, coaching programs, newsletters, Facebook group and Page, social media content etc.
  • All sessions (except group programs): in English or Dutch.  Alle sessies (m.u.v. groep coaching) in Engels of Nederlands.
